"BRoken" é composto por 5 atos. O projeto reflete sobre a situação política do país de origem da artista sonora Andrea May. Utilizando vinis preparados, destruídos e processados de hinos nacionais, em sobreposições que sedimentam sentimentos de perda, desordem e desilusão nas ruínas sociais do BR (Brasil).
Os hinos são, para May HD, símbolos de distopia baseados em letras utópicas e sem sentido. Harmonias heróicas agora se misturam com verdades barulhentas e conectam o experimentalismo ao poder da mulher sensível nas criações sonoras viscerais.

'BRoken' is the title of the most recent work of the sound artist, independent curator and PhD student in Visual Arts at the Federal University of Bahia, Andrea May.
Composed of 5 parts of variable duration, this project reflects on the political situation of her home country. Using prepared, destroyed and processed vinyl records of national anthems, in superimpositions that resemble the feelings of loss, disorder and disillusionment in the social ruins of BR (Brazil).
Anthems are, for May HD, based on symbols of dystopia with meaningless lyrics. Heroic harmonies are mixed with noisy truths and connect experimentalism with the power of sensitive females to visceral sound creation.
